Most recently, we have been work- ing with the NU faculty on the development of research proposals to address specific concerns associated with oil and gas production in the country of Kazakhstan. These proposals will provide our Mines’ faculty and department some excellent opportunities to work with partners and problems literally on the opposite side of the world.
We are always looking to build such strong and beneficial partner - ships, so if you know of any opportunities along these lines that you’d like to initiate with your alma mater, please let us know. And if you happen to be on the NU or SU campuses in the next few years, don’t be surprised if you see some Mines’ faculty running around there also!

The Colorado School of Mines Petroleum Engineering Depart- ment is pleased to announce a new graduate level online Pe- troleum Data Analytics Certificate program. The program is fo - cused on the practicing engineer with field level operations. The Petroleum Data Analytics Certificate provides an opportunity to receive a valuable Mines Certificate that fills the gap between a graduate degree and an industry short course. Plus, you earn graduate level credit hours. It is taught by industry-renowned Mines faculty with vast experience in the technical areas and in the digital oilfield. The Petroleum Engineering Department has worked with the Computer Science and Applied Math faculty to offer this practically oriented four three-credit hour course certificate program. In collaboration with the Trefny Engineering Education Center at Mines, the certificate is fully on-line with a global reach.
